LEED CertificationThe U.S. Green Building Council pioneered the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design or LEED Certification system for green buildings. This voluntary, third party verification system allows for buildings to achieve four increasing levels of certification across five major categories of sustainability. The Green Peak Group utilizes the LEED Rating System and certification process to help clients measure the improvements that they make to their buildings. The system can be applied to buildings that are new or existing construction and even retrofits. LEED Assessment During our preliminary green consultation, we will discuss the potential for LEED Certification for your building project. While a building can certainly be green in its performance without pursuing certification, it does provide a structure for achievable goals and the public demonstration that your project has met specific sustainability criteria and goals. LEED Documentation If you choose to attempt LEED certification, Green Peak Group will manage the entire checklist and documentation process from start to finish. We will collect materials specification from the project team and process the necessary information to submit to the USGBC. It is important to note that achieving LEED certification is not guaranteed until the USGBC reviews the final documentation and determines a certification level. Site Evaluation Site evaluations are important because Green buildings inspire a whole-systems approach to the design and construction processes. In order to develop an integrated plan for the best green solution, it is critical to have all persons involved connected as soon as possible.
